2: Decide if it is an  interior or exterior door.

3: If it is an interior door, have a style (panel type, how many panels, and size of panels) and wood choice in mind.

4: If it is an exterior door, decide if you would like a window or not.

5: If you choose to have a window then planning on what type of window is next. From half glass - to full glass, multiple window sections - to a large ornate styled window, your vision will come to life!

6: Dimension measurements for the door.
If it is a new, or complete replacement, interior or exterior door then the
rough opening is required. (Inside opening measurement between studs
inside the wall <side to side>,  header to floor <top to bottom>, and jamb
depth <depth of the wall cavity>, are located underneath the trim)

If it is a replacement door slab (the part that hangs on the hinges) height
and width of the slab is required.

If it is a storm door, dimension of the slab of the door you are attaching
the storm door to, is needed.

7: Determine if it is a Right-hand in swing, or a Left-hand in swing.

8: Decide if it should be a solid core, or hollow core door.
